Teen business owners, Cristina Corrie and Molly Raths, of iPerform Theatre, LLP, recruited 14 youth interns for their 2016 youth summer theater camp at the North Dale Rec Center in Saint Paul. The camp is open to youth aged 5-15 and runs from July 27 to June 22, 2016 from 6-8:30 pm weekdays. $100 for the entire camp is a bargain for both youth and parents.
The youth interns will be trained for various executive and managerial roles to help assist in the summer camp. Training is conducted in the basement of Cristina’s home. The first training session included self assessments as well as skill development and relationship building activities. Training materials are developed by Cristina and Molly who are college sophomores. Molly attends the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire and Cristina attends Babson College in Massachusetts.
This year they will build on their formula for success that gets rave reviews from youth and parents alike: building strong rapport with the youth, teen leaders, commissioning an original script from a local youth artist, weeks of skill development followed by role development, and a public performance.
Sponsors are invited to support the youth intern program. $250 will support one youth leader and receive a special recognition as a “iPerform Youth Champion” at the public performance. General sponsorship is $150. For sponsorship opportunities contact – firstname.lastname@example.org.
New this year is a one week mobile theater lab that can be offered at various locations.
